When pet food or litter is donated to us, we are happy to distribute it to low-income families with pets in our area.
If you would like to contribute to this effort, cat food may be brought to the PETCO in Culver City and please mark it for A Cat's Tale - Pet Food Bank.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Do you love animals? Meet like-minded people and have fun helping homeless animals by volunteering as little as one hour a week. If you are able to help out or would like a complete listing of volunteer opportunities, please email us at info@acatstail.org. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you to discuss your interests, availability, and talents to provide additional information on the opportunities that you are interested in. Training will be provided. A Cat's Tale is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping animals.
- Feeding feral/homeless cats in local controlled colonies
- Foster homes for cats and/or dogs
- Mailing and filing assistance
- Phone work, paperwork,and other volunteer work
- Transporting cats and/or dogs to and from veterinary clinics
- Trapping feral/homeless cats for neutering and vet care
- Adoption screeners for cats and kittens
- Animal food donation coordinator
- Bookkeeping assistant
- Can redemption coordinator
- Cat adoption team volunteers for PETCO Saturday adoptions
- Community outreach specialist (build a community via email)
- Correspondence secretaries to send out information and send thank you notes
- Emergency rescue coordinator
- Feral/homeless cat captain (advise, assist, and trap homeless and feral cats in community)
- Fund raising planners
- Liaisons to work with local animal control organizations to get photos and descriptions of adoptable cats and/or dogs
- Phone and email captains (overseeing and delegating calls/emails)
- Phone representative to return phone calls (from your home)
- Placement program coordinator, photography, writing, phone and/or mailings
- Spay/neuter program representatives to return calls and handle paperwork (from your home)
- Special events coordinator to develop and organize special events
- Web master
OUR WISH LIST
- Kittens: baby shampoo, baby wipes, jars of baby food (chicken, beef, ham, and turkey), KMR or Just Born (milk replacement)
- Kittens and cats: canned and dry food (any brand), clumping cat litter (any brand)
- Cleaning supplies: bleach, dish washing soap, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, and paper towels
- Gift cards: PETCO, PETSMART, Target (distributed to our foster families to purchase food and litter)
- Household items: crates, heating pads, pet carriers, sheets, small blankets (baby receiving blankets or fleece), Fitted baby crib sheets and towels
